Abstract

This collection contains pamphlets, brochures, playbills, catalogs, programs and other materials dating from 1783 to 1994 and relating to a range of individuals, families, and institutions from Brooklyn, Long Island and the Hudson Valley region. The collection was compiled by library staff at the Brooklyn Historical Society.

This collection is arranged in alphabetical order by title or author.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of materials dating from 1783 to 1994. The majority of the items are the product of institutions – i.e. businesses, churches, municipal services - though there are a few booklets by individuals, and one hand-drawn family tree. Topics range from advertisements to invitations to fundraising balls to a treatise on human perfectibility. This is a varied collection of disparate materials which were previously part of the Brooklyn Historical Society vertical files.
