Indexed typescript of recollections of Peter Wyckoff of the Brooklyn town of Bushwick, copied in 1958 by Harriet Stryker-Rodda from family papers in the possession of Sally Streeter Lester, Wyckoff's granddaughter. Wyckoff's recollections cover the period 1828 to 1910 and pertain to the old family house at 1325 Flushing Avenue; his grandfather, Peter Wyckoff; the Newtown and Brooklyn Turnpike; Flushing Avenue; and family possessions. Enslaved African Americans are also referenced in recollections.

Biographical Note

Harriet Stryker-Rodda was a genealogist and historian who conducted extensive research on the colonial families of New York State.

Peter Wyckoff (1828-1910) was of the fourth generation of the Dutch Wyckoff family in Brooklyn. He was a farmer and resident of the town of Bushwick, and was also well-known as a financier and philanthropist.
