Historical Note
The National Council of Women of the United States was established in 1888 by such prominent women's rights advocates as Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Julia Ward Howe, and Sojourner Truth. The Council campaigned for reform in regards to several social issues, including women's suffrage, child labor, and workplace conditions.
Scope and Contents note
One leaflet, dated 1895, issued by the National Council of Women of the United States. The leaflet announces the holding of an event called "Reunion of Friends and Pioneers of Woman's Progress" at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, held in honor of Elizabeth Cady Stanton's 80th birthday.
