This collection consists of two bills of lading for goods shipped to and from the New York City mercantile firm of Low and Wallace.

Historical Note

Low and Wallace was a New York City mercantile firm run by merchants Nicholas Low (1739-1826) and William A. Wallace.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two bills of lading for goods shipped to and from the New York City mercantile firm of Low and Wallace. The first bill of lading, dated March 9, 1805, is for goods shipped by Low and Wallace on board the brig Minerva, and is signed by Henry L. De Koven. The second bill of lading, dated June 30, 1805, is for goods shipped to Low and Wallace from Amsterdam by the firm Snellen and Book. It is signed by L.S. Danberry.
