Abstract
This collection consists of two photostat copies of a typescript synopsis of the log books kept by Christopher Prince on his journeys as captain of various ships throughout the period 1806 to 1823.
Biographical note
Born in Kingston, MA in 1751, Christopher Prince was a mariner and activist in the seamen's religious movement. He commanded ships owned or managed by N.L. and G. Griswold of 72 South Street in New York, N.Y. Prince died in New York in 1832.
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of two photostat copies of a typescript synopsis of the log books kept by Christopher Prince on his journeys as captain of various ships throughout the period 1806 to 1823. The last page also includes a brief chronological list with names of ships and ports visited. The compiler of the typescript and the location of Prince's original log book are unkown.
