Biographical note

Garrett Middagh was the son of Aert and Breckje Middagh. He married Cornelia James Cowenhoven in 1691, and together they owned a 30 acre farm near the ferry on the west side of Fulton Street near Henry Street in Brooklyn. In 1827, this farm descended to Middagh's relative Aert.
