Abstract

This collection contains two record books of the Brooklyn Fire Department, one pertaining to Engine Company No. 1 (dated 1898-1899), and the other pertaining to Engine Company #40 (dated 1910). The ledgers contain day-by-day logs of each engine company's activities, including responses to fires and other emergencies. The date and time of day for each activity logged are included in both ledgers.
