Abstract
The collection consists of two scrapbooks which were created by night school students (recent immigrants and refugees learning English) at E.S. 80 in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn in the 1940s. The documents produced by the students touch upon American history, World War II experiences, their home countries, life in New York, and opinions on the school.

E.S. 80 was located in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, on West 19th Street, near Neptune Avenue. It was demolished sometime around 1980.
