The collection comprises 8 digital photographic images taken by Michael Claro documenting the after effects of Hurricane Sandy in October 2012 in and around Coney Island: rough surf, damaged buildings and roadways, and seawall destruction.

The collection comprises 8 born-digital photographic images taken by Michael Claro, a Brooklyn resident and photographer, documenting the after effects of Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. The photographs were taken the day after the storm as he traveled along the Belt Parkway to Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. The extensive damage caused by the wind and water are captured in images of debris-strewn roadways, shattered seawalls, displaced automobiles, destroyed business signs, and collapsed homes.
