Series 1: Lantern slides of Brooklyn, circa 1890 to circa 1920. 1.5 Linear feet in three lantern slide boxes.

Scope and Contents

This series consists of black-and-white lantern slides of Brooklyn, taken by Lloyd, that depict 17th and 18th century historic houses, homesteads, churches, and schools in Brooklyn; 19th century storefronts in Brooklyn; 19th and 20th century street scenes of Brooklyn; and historic cemeteries and sepulchral monuments (gravestones) in Brooklyn. The series also contains lantern slides that document some of Lloyd's other interests including views of street cats from Lloyd's neighborhood in Brooklyn and images of old Brooklyn maps (presumably used for lectures), among others.
