Abstract: Barbara Benary is an American ethnomusicologist and composer specializing in Indonesian and Indian music. She is a co-founder and artistic director in the downtown New York based composer's collective and repertory ensemble Gamelan Son of Lion, who have been active since 1976. The Barbara Benary Collection on Gamelan Son of Lion consists of promotional flyers, posters, organizational records and performance programs by and related to Gamelan Son of Lion from 1975 to 2015.
