Series III: Mary Hunt Butler Reeves
Scope and Contents note1. Correspondence, 1865-1871 (bulk 1869-1870). Approx. 30 items (Box 1, folder 6-7). The majority are letters sent by her to her mother, detailing her daily life. Also included is a heartfelt reaction to President Lincoln's assassination. Letters received by her include five from a cousin, Frank Butler, in the Army of the Confederacy. He was apparently courting Mary. The earliest letter in the series consists of a group of dessert recipes in Mary's hand. 2. James J. Reeves. Letters Sent, 1866. 3 items (Box 1, folder 8).
