This finding aid was produced using the Archivists' Toolkit on April 19, 2018 using Describing Archives: A Content Standard

Scope and Contents Note

The collection consists of materials assembled by Anthony W. Robins for his 1987 book World Trade Center. Most of the documents are copies made from the Port Authority Archives; the original archives were destroyed on September 11, 2001. Research materials include press releases; feasibility, planning, and other studies; evaluation of architectural firms; preliminary outline specification scheme; fact sheets; background and statements from Minoru Yamasaki; briefing materials and plans; artist renderings, maps, overview, schematic, and other illustrations; correspondence and memoranda; timelines and historical background on the project; and promotional materials. There are also original promotional materials from the Wool Bureau regarding carpets at the World Trade Center.

Reference materials consist of copies of book excerpts, periodicals, and other publications regarding the site, construction, and the World Trade Center itself. In addition there are transcripts of interviews with the architect Richard Adler, director of port development for the Port of New York Authority Richard C. Sullivan, the architect? Robert Lin, and the architect Minoru Yamasaki; and original brochures advertising the WTC observation deck, building maps and shopping guides, and giving a general background of the building.
