Series III. Edward P. Cogger, engraver
Biographical / HistoricalEdward P. Cogger was an illustrator and engraver who worked for the McLoughlin Brothers, Inc. in the 1850s and presumably until his death in 1902. He resided at 12 Ann Street until 1859 and spent the remainder of his life in New Jersey. Cogger's engraving work contributed greatly to McLoughlin Brothers, Inc.'s success post-Civil War. Prominent in this series is Cogger's watercolor renditions of Old Mother Hubbard pages on the back of 4 woodblocks and 1 fragment. |
