Abstract

This is a small collection of photographs of several New York City public works projects constructed in the 1930's to 1950's.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of photographs of several public works projects constructed in New York City in the 1930's-1950's. Projects include sewage plants, Grand Central Parkway (gas station), 86th Street Pumping Station, Lincoln Hospital, Neponsit Beach Hospital, Harlem Welfare Center, Betsy Head Bath House, and Jamaica High School. The photographs belonged to Harold H. Klein, a Civil Engineer who worked on a number of public works projects in and around New York City in the early part of his career in the construction industry.
