The collection contains 201 gelatin silver prints taken by an unidentified photographer of sites in New York City and state circa 1910-1920.

Photographs are arranged alphabetically by subject.

Scope and Content Note

The Wright Photograph Collection spans the period from ca. 1910 to 1920 and contains 201 gelatin silver photographs. Taken by an unidentified photographer, images feature New York City and state locations as well as leisure activities of the middle class. Photographs depict lively gatherings at Coney Island and Brighton Beach, with beachgoers engaging in acrobatics, dancing, diving, boating and playing ball games. Smaller groups of photographs include New York street scenes, with groups of women in stylish hats, houseboats, ocean liners, and people engaged in horseback riding. There are also a large number of scenic views, including images of geysers, beaches, fields, and wooded regions.
