This collection of photographs and negatives documents the history of Polytechnic from 1857 to 2011.
Biographical / Historical
The images in this collection include unprocessed photographs and negatives in the Poly Archives as well as images transferred to the archives from various departments over a number of years. Some of these departments include: Alumni Relations, Development, Student Activities, Public Relations, and the President's Office.

The collection is arranged, by subject, into eight series:

Scope and Contents
The photographs and negatives in this collection depict the Polytechnic campus, departments, labs, students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, and notable events. Spanning 1857 to 2011, the images cover the school's physical and administrative changes from the Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute to the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, to the Polytechnic Institute of New York, to Polytechnic University to, finally, the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
