Provenance

The bulk of the Joint Anti-Fascist Refugee Committee Collection was donated to the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in 1971 by Violet Robbins. This collection came to New York University in January 2001 as part of the original acquisition of ALBA collections, formerly housed at Brandeis University. In March 2004, Meyer S. Gunther donated 29 issues of "Free Spain: Bulletin of the Joint Anti-Fascist Refugee Committee"(1951-1954), and two single-page leaflets issued by the Committee.
