Abstract: The Joint Anti-Fascist Refugee Committee (JAFRC) was formed in 1941 to supply humanitarian relief to refugees of the Spanish Civil War and to support “anti-fascist fighters trapped in Vichy France, and North Africa.” Citing harassment by the House Committee on Un-American Activities, the Subversive Activities Control Board and the Treasury Department, the board of JAFRC voted to disband in 1955. These records consist of documents related to the political concerns of the JAFRC, both domestically and abroad, and its fundraising activities.
