William Benjamin Morel was a volunteer in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War. This collection includes an International Brigades Carnet Militar, a 1938 Communist Party of Spain carnet, a VALB membership book, and a letter from the president of the American Communications Association (CIO) to the general secretary of Confederacion Trabajadares de Mexico introducing Morel and asking for assistance to him. The letter contains a brief biography of Morel for the period 1934 to 1940. The collection also contains two photos of Morel and one photo postcard of a group of volunteers on shipboard, returning from Spain in 1939.
