Scope and Contents
While apparently not a Spanish Civil War veteran himself, Edward Heitman took a keen interest in the War, and collected memorabilia of the conflict, including commemorative items. Contents include correspondence between Heitman and International Brigade veterans (and relatives) from the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, and the Soviet Union; postcards, photographs, and commemorative programs sent to him by veterans; newsletters and mailings from the International Brigade Association (UK) and the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade; a sizeable ocllection of Spanish postage stamps of the Civil War era; and one Spanish coin. A frequent correspondent in the 1980s was British volunteer John Langstaff.
