Clifton H. Amsbury (1910-2007) fought in the Spanish Civil War with the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. After the war Amsbury became an anthropology professor in California. This small collection contains Amsbury's diary from the War, covering his time in Spain from 1937 to 1938. The collection also contains correspondence and writings of Amsbury relating to anthropology, social science taxonomies, and reflections on the Spanish Civil War.
