This typescript is of a memoir by James Neugass recounting his experiences as an ambulance driver in the Spanish Civil War. The manuscript is longer than the published English edition (War is Beautiful: an American Amubulance Driver in the Spanish Civil War) which was cut by about 1,500 words. The typescript is a photocopy of the originals ms. at the University of Illinois Library.
