Historical/Biographical Note

Samuel Levinger was a student from Ohio State University who volunteered to serve in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade during the Spanish Civil War. He was wounded in the Battle of Belchite in September 1937 and died shortly thereafter.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of photocopies of his correspondence, as well as photocopies of a memorial committee pamphlet, a short story, and a photograph of Levinger in a hospital bed.
