The Printed Ephemera Collection on the Bakery, Confectionery, and Tobacco Workers
International Union is an artificial collection, collected and assembled by the Tamiment
Library over the course of several decades. Material in the collection originates
with the national bodies of the Bakery, Confectionery, and Tobacco Workers International
Union as well as the American Bakery and Confectionery Workers' International Union
and the Bakery and Confectionery Workers' International Union of America. The collection
also contains material from locals around the country, most notably, from Bakers'
Union Local 3 of New York City, which was formed as a Local for all New York City
bakers who were previously organized as small, often ethnically based locals.
