Abstract: Sociologist Daniel Bell (1919-2011) was a writer and teacher of the history of the American left and of American Labor. He was managing editor of the New Leader in the 1940s, labor editor of  Fortune from 1948 to 1958 and is the author of several books and monographs. The papers represent materials gathered by Bell for his writing and research. They include correspondence, clippings, minutes, pamphlets, research notes, articles, reports, congressional testimony and interviews.
