Historical/Biographical Note

Daniel Nilva was a freelance photographer involved in the Film and Photo League in the 1920s. Nilva also worked as a staff photographer for the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union for many years and saw himself as an historian of the role of the Communist Party in the labor movement.

Scope and Contents

This small collection contains various newsletters, publications, and mailings by the Communist Party, the Socialist Party, the Young Communist League and Communist Party opposition groups on the Left. There is also a small amount of biographical material on Nilva.
