Abstract

Mitch Miller is a founding member of the Libertarian Workers Group, the Anarchist-Communist Federation of North America, and the Workers Solidarity Alliance. He is active in the Libertarian Book Club, among other libertarian and anarchist groups, and writes for numerous anarchist publications, sometimes under the pen name Mike Harris. The collection consists largely of flyers from anarchist and libertarian groups in the New York metropolitan area. It also includes material produced by foreign anarchist groups, correspondence, newsletters, and clippings.

Biographical Note

Mitch Miller is a founding member of the Libertarian Workers Group, The Anarchist-Communist Federation of North America and the Workers Solidarity Alliance, a political activist group that advocates anarcho-syndicalism and was formerly an affiliate of the International Workers Association. He is active in the Libertarian Book Club, an independent publisher and political organization founded in New York City in the 1940s. The LBC publishes original and translated texts written from various anarchist and syndicalist perspectives and also organizes lectures, panel discussions, and forum events on libertarian socialism. Miller has written for numerous anarchist publications, sometimes under the pen name Mike Harris.

Scope and Contents

The materials in the collection consist largely of flyers from anarchist and libertarian groups in the New York metropolitan area, including the Libertarian Book Club, the Social-Revolutionary Anarchist Federation and the Jewish Anarchist Community. This collection also includes materials from international anarchist organizations such as the International Workers Association and the Syndicalist Workers Federation, from anarchist groups in a wide range of foreign countries, and from libertarian and labor organizations in the United States, such as the Redwing Workers Organization and International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 705, as well as some of Mitch Miller's writings and correspondence.
