Sidney and Clara Solomon were New York anarchists and were members of the Vanguard Group in the 1930s and the New Trends Group in the 1940s. The Sidney and Clara Solomon Papers document their interest in and work towards anarchist activities, including the Vanguard Group, the New Trends Group, and the Atlantic Anarchist Circle. Materials in the collection date from the 1920s through 2004.

Scope and Contents

The Sidney and Clara Solomon Papers consist of materials created and collected by Sidney and Clara Solomon between the 1920s and 2004. Materials include correspondence, fliers, and articles on anarchism from the 1920s through the 1980s; meeting minutes, documents of incorporation, and correspondence documenting the creation and activities of the Atlantic Anarchist Circle in the late 1990s and early 2000s; and meeting minutes from the Vanguard Group in the 1930s. The correspondence includes letters from Emma Goldman and John Dewey, letters between the Solomons and others regarding the publication of articles about anarchism in Israel and Spain in the 1970s, and correspondence regarding the creation and activities of the Atlantic Anarchist Circle in the late 1990s.
