Scope and Content Note

This 39-minute film Hour of the People (  La Hor del Pueblo ) documents the Uruguay’s return to democracy, following a peaceful transition from a military dictatorship that ruled the country between 1973 and 1985. This series includes copies of the full-length documentary, as well as interview footage with Uruguayan Communist Party leader Jaime Perez.
