Abstract

This collection contains the papers of Revolutionary Socialist League (RSL) member William Bachmann. Papers in the collection relate to Bachmann's involvement with the RSL and include newsletters, agendas, meeting minutes, flyers, memos, and reports from New York regional meetings and fraction meetings between the mid-1970s and 1980s. Other materials documenting RSL activities include editorial files from the RSL newspaper The Torch, leaflets, pamphlets, and issues of the the RLS newsletter League Report from 1973 to 1980. Additionally the collection contains a small amount of materials related to the North East Federation of Anarchist Communists, which contains programs and reading materials from anarchist conferences between 2000 and 2011.

Biographical / Historical

William Bachmann was a member of the Revolutionary Socialist League. The Revolutionary Socialist League (RSL) was an American Trotskyist organization formed in the early 1970s.

Materials related to the Revolutionary Scocialist League (RSL) are grouped in folders based on subject or RSL fraction. These files are not arranged in any clear order. Issues of League Report arranged chronologically.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains the papers of Revolutionary Socialist League (RSL) member William Bachmann. Papers in the collection relate to Bachmann's involvement with the RSL and include newsletters, agendas, meeting minutes, flyers, memos, and reports from New York regional meetings and fraction meetings between the mid 1970s and 1980s. These materials include files from the Left Movement Fraction, Gay Fraction, Community and Labor Fraction, United Front Fraction, and the Postal Fraction. Other materials documenting RSL activities include editorial files from the RSL newspaper The Torch, leaflets, pamphlets, and issues of the the RLS newsletter League Report from 1973 to 1980. Additionally the collection contains a small amount of materials related to the North East Federation of Anarchist Communists, which includes programs and reading materials from anarchist conferences between 2000 and 2011.
