Abstract
Gary Stevenson served as an organizer and business agent for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), Local 810, from 1977 to 1987. Local 810 represents laborers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania who work in a variety of occupations, including truck drivers, metal and machine shop workers, and lab and manufacturing technicians. The collection contains files related to the organizing efforts and other activities of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) from the 1960s to the 1990s.
Historical/Biographical Note
Gary Stevenson served as an organizer and business agent for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), Local 810, from 1977 to 1987. Local 810 represents laborers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania who work in a variety of occupations, including truck drivers, metal and machine shop workers, and lab and manufacturing technicians. Stevenson's duties for Local 810 included executing organizing campaigns, handling grievances, and negotiating contracts between union members and their employers. He later worked for the IBT in a broader capacity, serving as the union's Eastern Region Organizing Coordinator.

Processing Information
Materials were shifted between boxes to ensure that boxes were appropriately filled. Some materials in overstuffed folders were refoldered.
Inventory was done at the box level by the archivists. Description is provided at the folder level where folder titles were already available.
