The Fight Against War and Fascism began publication in November 1933 (Vol. 1, no. 1) and was published by the American League Against War and Fascism. Although it was initiated by the Communist Party USA, its membership was broad and included individuals from other left-wing organizations, labor unions, and African American civic groups. In January 1938 (Vol. 5, no. 3), the journal's title changed to Fight for Peace and Democracy. In June 1939, the title changed again to World for Peace and Democracy (Vol. 6, no. 8). Publication likely ceased in July 1939 (Vol. 6, no. 9).
